Montreal Housing Market Continue to Rise,
Sales Volume Increased by 16%

According to QPAREB’s February Residential Real Estate Market Statistics, residential sales fell by 3 percent in the Montreal CMA, active listing fell by 26%, while sales volume jumped by 16%. By property category, the new active listing of single-family-home dropped 51% with a decrease of average selling time of 15 days.

The boom in the single-family-home markets also has driven the condo and plex markets. In February of 2021, the median price of single-family homes increased 28%, while that of condominiums increased 24%, and 9% for plex. The skyrocketing price and active listing decrease of single-family-home in Montreal CMA also prove that residents have great requirements for sufficient living space, and houses are out-of-demand.
